Every year, I share a list of the destinations I’m most excited about. Places that are trending, places that feel timeless, and places I know my clients will absolutely love. My Top Destinations to Visit in 2026 blog was no different. It highlighted incredible spots around the world that deserve a place on your travel radar.
But this year, I wanted to do something different.
Instead of just telling you where you should be going in 2026, I want to show you why those places matter, how they feel, and how they might fit into your version of a perfect trip. Travel isn’t one-size-fits-all, and a single blog post, no matter how detailed, can only scratch the surface.
So in 2026, I’m diving deeper.

More Than a List, This Is a Journey
Travel blogs often focus on quick hits. “Go here.” “Don’t miss this.” “Add it to your bucket list.” And while that can be helpful, it doesn’t always help you decide if a destination is right for you.
This new blog series is about slowing things down and giving you a better look behind the scenes of the destinations I recommend. I want you to understand:
- What makes each place special
- When it’s best to visit
- How it fits different travel styles
- And what kind of experience you can realistically expect
Whether you’re a beach lover, a culture seeker, a foodie, or someone who just wants to unplug and breathe for a bit, I want these blogs to help you picture yourself there.
Why I’m Doing This Now
Travel has changed. People are traveling more intentionally. They’re asking better questions. They want meaningful experiences, not just photos for social media. And as a travel advisor, I’ve seen firsthand how much more confident and excited clients feel when they truly understand a destination before they book.
I also know how overwhelming planning can feel. You Google a destination and suddenly you’re buried in opinions, conflicting advice, and lists that don’t really explain anything. This series is my way of cutting through that noise and offering clear, thoughtful guidance based on real planning experience.
These aren’t generic travel articles. They’re written with the same care I use when planning a trip for a client. Honest, practical, and rooted in what actually works.

What You Can Expect From This Series
Each destination from my 2026 list will get its own spotlight. Instead of rushing through ten places at once, I’ll break them down into focused blogs that explore things like:
- Regions and neighborhoods worth knowing
- Best seasons to visit and why timing matters
- Cultural moments, festivals, or local traditions
- Hidden gems alongside well-known highlights
- And how to build an itinerary that feels balanced, not exhausting
Some posts will help first-time visitors feel confident. Others will be perfect if you’ve already been somewhere once and want to experience it differently the next time.
Helping You Travel Smarter, Not Just Farther
At the heart of this series is education. I want you to feel informed, empowered, and excited, whether you’re booking next month or dreaming about a trip two years from now. When you understand a destination better, you make better choices about where to splurge, where to slow down, and what truly matters to you.
That’s also where Mahone Travel comes in. These blogs are designed to inspire, but they’re also meant to start conversations. When you read one and think, “That sounds like exactly what I want,” that’s my cue to help you turn that idea into a real, thoughtfully planned trip.

An Invitation to Dream a Little Bigger
Travel planning doesn’t have to feel rushed or surface-level. It can be fun, inspiring, and deeply personal. This blog series is an invitation to dream a little bigger, ask better questions, and look beyond the obvious.
So if you loved my Top Destinations to Visit in 2026 post, consider this the next chapter. We’re going deeper, destination by destination, so you can decide not just where to go, but how you want to experience it.
And when you’re ready to start planning your own 2026 adventure, I’ll be right here, ready to help you make it happen.
